Read this Dude!
Well, as expected, under the pressure of most of my peers having their own blog areas, I have decided to join the league of extraordinary bloggers. Stressed I am these few weeks as I have to prepare myself for entrance into a varsity. I should stress that the choosing of modules to read is no simple task. All the different modules available in each major will be enough to turn anyone bonkers if they have not laid down a path of which to follow in the next 4 years of their lifes.A simple introduction of myself here. Well, I am a 21 year old guy, currently studying (Duh...) and I am into mandarin pop and music playing. Learning to play the keyboard as well as singing. (6 months for the former and 2 months for the latter). I am intending to major in ICM (Information and Communications Management), a programme similar to that of NTU's Mass Communications.
I will be placing bids for my desired modules today, the deadline is till tomorrow. Time waits for no one as I struggle to decide on what I should read in my first semester and the rest of my stay in NUS before the deadline of 1700Hrs (GMT +8) tomorrow.
I have been down at NUS the past 3 days for my matriculation and talks on each of the programmes offered in the FASS (Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences). The first day of the talks ended up with me walking out of the lecture theatre long before it has ended. The problem is not with the lecturer giving the talk, but more of a system glitch. The live webstream showed only the visual, minus the audio halfway through the talk. So much for "listening" attentively... After lunch, I decided to try my luck in entering the main lecture theatre where I was denied entry as it was filled up 10 minutes before the commencement of the talks in the morning. (As expected of Singaporeans, eager as always) I managed to squeeze in with the crowd in the afternoon as I was there 20 minutes before the commencement of the afternoon talks. Much to my dismay, the lecturers kept stressing that we could find out more about their departments on the NUS website... so much for organising a talk. (How informative... I guess getting the info out from the website would be much easier than travelling all the way down there in the morning...)
The same thing will be happening on the 3rd day, so after I have attended what I deemed as the "most important talk" of the day, I decided to return home to do my research via the website and rewarded I was, with most of the information I would need for choosing my modules, on my lap.
Still wallowing in the deep waters of the modular system, I should need the whole day of today and tomorrow to plan for my remaining years back in school, doing what we singaporeans do best... Study.
