Start of a New Life...

Well, the day is edging nearer as I speak. Wednesday will be the day I will officially start a new phase of my life, more responsibilities and of course, a chance to know more people.

Today is national day, supposedly a happy day for every singaporean. However, I am unable to get myself into a joyous mood anymore. (That was since the first time I saw my friends take part in the NDP preparations.) I am no longer intrigued nor entertained by the various performances put up by everyone for the parade. Everything just looks so repetitive and boring, not to mention all the enslavery... heehee. I wonder if its just me...

Will be meeting up with a friend of mine who will be going overseas to further his studies in the US, and hopefully come back after 8 years with a doctorate. He was one of my best buddies back in camp, went through a lot of stuff together and of course, dodged a lot of arrows too. I am happy for him as he will be entering a new chapter, one that will perhaps, change his life forever, propelling him into a brighter future. I really hope that he will continue to hang on to the threads of our friendship no matter how far apart we may be. Friends, once bonded, should never be allowed to sever itself, and that is what I hold in every friendship. I may not be able to see him off on Wednesday, so I would like to wish him all the best for his studies and bon voyage!

Our life is likened to that of a day. When we are born, sunrise marks the beginning of a brand new day, a day of hope and joy. I am now at the time before the sun shines to its fullest and highest. The day will come when we all will shine and create miracles with our lifes, hopefully bringing joy and light to those around us and as we age, we will age with as much splendour as the sunset of each day. That will mark an end to our wonderful lifetime, a lifetime worth remembering rather than regretting. I hope each and everyone of us will have a story of our own to tell, one that will allow us to derive pleasure to depict when we get old. We are the authors of our lifes, no one will tell us exactly what to write in our books, it is all up to us to decide what contents to add in and what not to.

Life is that simple... isn't it?
